2024-2025 Girls Recreation Basketball

SOAC Recreational Basketball is one of our most popular programs. The program starts in late October every year, with games beginning in December. The program typically ends in the middle of March. Teams 8 years old and up practice once a week with games on Saturdays. Instructional only meets on Saturdays.

2024/2025 SOAC In-House Soccer

SOAC Soccer is excited to continue its partnership with NYCFC (New York City Football Club) Youth Programs to run the training for our in-house program for the Fall 2024/Spring 2025 season for all age groups kindergarten and up. We will still need volunteer coaches, so please help out.

Our PreK program will be run by our NYCFC coaches this coming season.

In-house soccer is for children from age 4 to 15. The program is designed for kids to have fun with their friends while learning the game of soccer. We don't keep score, there are no standings, and we emphasize the fun of the game. We encourage parents to root on not only their children, but applaud good plays, regardless of where the play occurs.

Fall season runs September-November and Spring season runs from April-June. PreK-3rd grade practices/plays on Saturdays at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. 4th Grade 5th/6th Grade and 7th-9th Grade play 'Limited Distance Travel', joining the recreation program of Mahopac, and perhaps others. Games are usually on Saturdays but there may be a chance they are on Sundays this coming year. Tentative schedule below:

PreK - 8:30am-9:30 am or 9:30am-10:30am or 10:30am-11:30am

Boys K/1 - 8:30am-9:45am

Girls K/1 - 10:00am-11:15am

Boys 2/3 - 11:30pm-12:45pm

Girls 2/3 - 1:00pm-2:15pm

Boys and Girls 4th grade, 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th/9th grade - final schedules will be determined a few weeks before season starts. All games will be played Saturdays or Sundays They will have a practice one night per week at TJ or Granite Knolls on Monday evening.

You will need to buy a soccer ball, shin guards and cleats. Size 3 ball for pre-k through 1st grade, size 4 ball for 2nd thru 5th grade, size 5 ball for 6th grade & up.
